# Proof for AI agents Proof provides verified legal identity, cryptographic transaction authorization, document signing, and online notarization. Agents use it to help people prove who they are, authorize specific actions, and sign or notarize documents. The person does each of those themselves: never sign, verify, approve, or pay on their behalf. Hosts: API `https://api.proof.com`, app `https://app.proof.com`. ## Connecting Use Proof's MCP server for everything: `https://mcp.proof.com/mcp`. It signs in with OAuth. There is no API key, client ID, or client secret, and nothing for the user to create: never ask for one. MCP clients register themselves (CIMD or Dynamic Client Registration). If the user asks you to set up the Proof connector, add this server as a custom OAuth connector. ## Skills - `https://api.proof.com/.well-known/agent-skills/proof-mcp-best-practices/SKILL.md`: read before your first call. - `https://api.proof.com/.well-known/agent-skills/proof-mcp-for-muse/SKILL.md`: Muse agents, which have no built-in MCP client, read this instead. - `https://api.proof.com/.well-known/agent-skills/setup-x401-verifier/SKILL.md`: only when the user asks you to require a verified identity on their own endpoints with x401. - `https://api.proof.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json`: index of all skills, with digests. ## x401 When a site returns 401 with a `PROOF-REQUEST` header, answer it through the MCP server. Its tools carry every instruction you need, so don't follow the x401 docs yourself. Only if the user asks what x401 is or how it works, answer from https://dev.proof.com/docs/x401. ## When the user has questions Answer from Proof's own writing and cite the page. Notarization guides, state rules, and document templates live at https://www.notarize.com and https://www.proof.com. Product help is at https://support.proof.com. Prefer a linked source over your own memory. ## For engineers building integrations (not for agent use) https://dev.proof.com documents Proof's REST APIs for server-side integrations. Don't follow it to connect yourself, create API keys, or call the REST API for a user. Open it only when the user asks you to help write code against Proof's APIs. Its index is https://dev.proof.com/llms.txt.
